Camps

Our Council has two wonderful camps where you and your girls can have a great time! Troops can reserve campsites at any camp. Here's a brief summary of our camps and their features.

Camp Mitre Peak
Camp Mitre PeakLocated in the Davis Mountains between Fort Davis and Alpine, was purchased in 1947. The camp has traditional camp sites and modern facilities including an education center and pavilion for year-round use. Camp Mitre Peak offers summer resident camping programs, troop and family camping, special events and rental rates for user groups. The camp meets all safety standards of the Texas Department of Health and GSUSA.

Camp Pioneer
Located in El Paso’s Upper Valley, is a 22 acre haven. Camp Pioneer has offered Girl Scouts year-round resident camping programs, troop and family camping since 1938. There are hiking trails, cooking facilities, one-room units, great camping areas and more. The lodge area can accommodate large groups and is available for special events and rental. For many Girl Scouts past and present, Camp Pioneer is remembered fondly as their first camping experience.

Girl Scouts and non-members are invited to enjoy the fun-filled outdoor adventures at our camps.

In addition to the fun and friendships campers look forward to every year, our age-appropriate activities also engage them in practicing leadership skills.  At summer camp, girls will discover their personal best and prepare for a positive future, connect with others in an increasingly diverse world, and take action to solve problems and improve their communities.

Through our unique Leadership Development Program, the words of the Girl Scout mission come to life: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.
